 Introduction IMBONDEX TURISTICA LIMITADA
Is the capital of Angola and has a tropical weather with two seasons. The rainy season is from September to April and the dry season from Maio to Agost with annual average temperature of 25ºC.

Covering 2.257 km2 is the smallest province of the country with 9 districts: Sambizanga, Rangel, Kilamba Kiaxi, Maianga, Samba, Viana, Cacuaco, Cazenga and Ingombota.


Its population is estimated around 6 million people coming from diffe-rent ethnic groups because it was the safest destination of people during the war time.

It is becoming a metropolis with citizens coming from every corners of the world. The most spoken language is Kimbundu and the population rely basically on commerce and services.

There are some figures cha- racterizing the daily life of Luanda such as bessangana (strong and tall traditional clothing), the quitandeira (nowadays also known as zungueira), and the fisherman from the island.

Other figures such as the candongueiros (taxi drivers) and the roboteiros (those who carry bags by one wheeler), the Muxiluanda (singular- Axiluanda) are the inhabitants of the Island cape and their Basic activity is fishing.

Caluanda is the name given to those who were born in Luanda. Did you know that: bessangana was derived from two words in Kimbundu which are "bessa" – bless and "ngana" God, meaning "God blessing?"
