Introduction CVLODGE TURISMO E HOTELARIA LIMITADA
A province covering 57.091 km2 with 5 districts: Namibe, Bibala, Camucuio, Virei e Tômbwa. The capital is Namibe. It is under a desert weather influenced by the cold wind from Benguela with annual average temperature around 21 ºC.

At this point of the country, the desert meets the sea, creating an amazing scenario of beauty. It has great potenti-alities for tourism and there are some rupestrian inscription and a beautiful plant which represents the symbol of the province – the Welwistcha Miribilis – also a symbol of resistance in the desert.

Did you know that Tômbwa is the local name gi-ven to Welvitcha Mirabilis and later adopted as a name to the commercial harbour of the province? The harbour of Namibe is the third important one, after the one from Lobito and it is serving basically the fishing industry.

Though fishing is the main economic activity in the province, they rely also on salt extraction and ornament stones. Did you know that the first harbour of Tômbwa was the harbour Alexandre, because of the British explorer who was in Benguela and also was part of Namibe district? If you visit Namibe, strive to visit and experiment the sensation of being in the desert of Namibe which is also the starting point of Kalahari Desert in Namibia.

Small group of Bushmen can still be found in Namibe, preserving their culture, habits and custom.
