 Introduction UNITEL SOCIEDADE ANONIMA
Located in the centre of the country, this province has 9 districts: Kuito (capital), Andulo, Katabola, Chinguar, Chitembo, Kamakupa, Kunhinga, Kuemba and Nharea, spread over 70.314 km2.

The province has the shape of a heart that bits right from the centre of the country. The weather is mesoteric in altitude which is dry, sweet, tempered and constant.

The highest temperature is in the rainy season from September to May but does not exceed 20ºC at a shadow and the cold season which is also dry from May to September is sometimes freezing.

The weather is suitable to agriculture while the rainfall distribution can reach up to 1500 mm. The population is basically from Ovimbundu origin. Other language groups in Bie are the Tchokwe and Nganguelas, the Luimbis, Songos and Ngoias. The main activity of the population is agriculture and cattle breeding.

The most spoken language is Umbundu. Kuito, is the capital city during the colonization era, was baptized with the name of Silva Porto.

Named "town of martyr" several times, Kuito is with no doubt one of the towns that felt much the consequences of war but slowly, the signs of war are being cleared with the large scale reconstruction going on presently.
