Is located in the south of Angola and its capital is Ondjiva and has got 6 districts: Kuanhama, Ombadja, Cuvelai, Kuroca, Kahama and Namacunde spread over 87.342 Km2.
The weather is tropical dry and the coldest month is July, with a temperature around 17ºC while the hottest month is October with a temperature of 26ºC.
The activities of the citizens are agriculture and cattle breeding and the most spoken language is Kwanyama. The landscape is characterized by forests, savannah and steppes.
The population is basically from Ambo origin and not from Bantu contrary to the rest of Angola. There are four ethnic groups such as the Koysan – nomad people inoffensive and they rely on wild fruits collection and survival hunting, Ovambos (divided into Kwanyamas, Cuamatos and Muvales), Nyanecas Humbes and Herero (divided into Mucahones and Mutuas).
The population relies basically on Agriculture and cattle breeding. The major rivers are: Cunene, Cuvelai and Calonga.
